How to start selling digital goods: a plan for resellers
Where to buy codes and top-ups wholesale, where to sell, how to count the margin and automate delivery, step by step.
Digital goods (gift cards, game top-ups, subscriptions) sell all year round, need no warehouse or shipping, and reach the buyer in seconds. Here is a short plan for starting such a business without losing money early on.
1. Pick where you will sell
The channels our partners use most:
- Gaming marketplaces: FunPay, Playerok, Starvell. The buyers are already there; you list offers and deliver fast. See the pages for sellers on FunPay, Playerok and Starvell.
- A Telegram bot or your own store: more margin, but you bring the traffic yourself. This needs an API.
- Friends and communities: a fine way to test demand, but it doesn’t scale.
2. Choose what to sell
Start with what sells every day: gift cards for Apple, Google Play, Steam and PlayStation, and top-ups for popular games such as PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends and Genshin Impact. Don’t take everything at once: 5 to 10 products you understand sell better than a hundred random ones.
Mind the regions. Gift cards are almost always tied to the account’s country; there is a separate guide on regions.
3. Find a wholesale supplier
Buying codes one by one at retail eats the margin. A wholesale platform gives prices below retail, codes in seconds and an order history. On PacketUP HUB a partner funds a USDT balance and buys in the dashboard or via the API; the price depends on the partner level, so the bigger the turnover, the lower it gets.
4. Count the margin up front
Profit is not just the sale price minus the purchase price. The marketplace fee, the payout fee, the exchange rate and the odd refund all come out of it. The formula and an example are in the reseller margin guide.
5. Automate delivery
Buyers of digital goods expect them at once. Delivering codes by hand loses sales at night and on weekends. Connect your bot or store to the supplier via the API: the order is placed automatically, the code or top-up arrives in seconds and a webhook reports the result.
6. Keep quality high
- Check the account region and player ID before the sale.
- Keep codes and order numbers: you’ll need them if a buyer writes a month later.
- Answer fast: on marketplaces response time affects the seller rating.
